Your Donation Will Allow the Guild to: Expand and Maintain the Articles Online Project Our goal is to convert our fifty-year legacy of sharing into a digital format to benefit the lutherie community now and into the future. We have about 900 articles posted and indexed already, and we just added a great search function. We hope to add hundreds more to the website this year and next. This process involves going back into our archives to find photo originals and other detailed tasks. The Guild has published almost 4000 articles over the years, so we have plenty to do to preserve the legacy of our members and staff in digital form. Keep the Guild Office Operational We want our non-retiring staff to keep shipping books and back issues, printing and shipping plans, maintaining the website, helping you log in, putting more articles online, and more. Let’s continue to give the lutherie community access to the great resources we still have in print. Help us keep the lights on in the Guild office to serve you. Preserve the Guild’s Archives We want to close the circle by ensuring that our physical archive of manuscripts, publications, and correspondence is safely deposited in a suitable institution. Future scholars and historians will want to document and research the American lutherie boom, the great reawakening of grassroots instrument making that has reshaped so much about the musical and craft culture, so we want to preserve the evidence! The Guild of American Luthiers is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit educational organization. All donations to the Guild are tax-deductible charitable donations in the USA. Other Types of Donations Other types of donations can have tax advantages to the donors. Members over 70 1/2 years of age can donate from their IRA by making a qualified charitable distribution (QCD.
