Clamping the dowel block Page 54 - Fret-Buzz Detector by John Kruse Tim, I’m sorry to say that there was a minor error in the schematic diagram in my “Fret Buzz Detector” article in AL#150. I just cannot believe I didn’t catch this until I opened the journal to the article and my eyes were drawn immediately to an error in how I drew the power switch. The circuit will work as drawn. The problem is that, as shown, the power switch is shown connected to only one of the four (+V) battery connections, (that is, to Pin 4 of the 555 chip) and the other three are shown directly connected to the (+V) battery terminal, so that when you turn off the power switch, you wouldn’t be turning off the power to the three other (+V) points.
